What is high-performance stainless "Silicoloy"? *High hardness × corrosion resistance

The balance of high Si and low C is characteristic! The composition of Ni, Cr, and precipitation strengthening elements is adjusted according to the application.

Generally, martensite in iron alloys that do not contain carbon is soft and highly ductile, but on the other hand, it has low strength, and since there is almost no carbon present even after tempering, carbide precipitation hardening is not achievable. Instead of carbides, fine precipitate particles of intermetallic compounds are dispersed to enhance strength, as seen in precipitation-hardened stainless steels such as SUS630 and SUS631, as well as ultra-high-strength maraging steels. Among silicoalloy steels, "Silicoalloy A2" and "Silicoalloy XVI" utilize the precipitation hardening mechanism, particularly characterized by the refined matrix structure of "Silicoalloy XVI," which has hard intermetallic compounds precipitating. For more details, please download and view the catalog. 【Precipitation-Hardened Silicoalloy】 ■ Silicoalloy A2 ■ Silicoalloy XVI *For more information, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

High-performance stainless steel "Silicolloy" *Hardness conversion table / Various properties of SUS630

Technical handbook available! From H900, which emphasizes hardness, to H1150, which focuses on toughness! There are 4 types of heat treatment!

"SUS630" is a representative steel of precipitation hardening stainless steel, combining corrosion resistance and high strength. After solution heat treatment (solid solution heat treatment) at 1020 to 1060°C, precipitation hardening heat treatment (aging heat treatment) is applied to precipitate a Cu-rich phase, resulting in high strength and high hardness. This document includes "an example of chemical composition," as well as "heat treatment standards" and "hardness conversion tables" presented in tables. Please take a moment to read it. [Contents (partial)] ■ Example of chemical composition ■ Example of physical properties ■ Heat treatment standards ■ Example of mechanical properties ■ Hardness conversion table *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Types and Advantages of High-Performance Stainless Steel "Silicoroy"

Solve various issues of quenching and improve the processing process! Localized hardening through high-frequency heat treatment is possible.

Introducing the advantages and types of the all-around stainless steel "Silico Alloy (precipitation hardening type)" that combines multiple properties in one steel. It excels in the balance of hardness and corrosion resistance, and high hardness can be achieved through low-temperature heat treatment. There are four types of steel, ranging from high strength to high hardness, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance. 【Advantages】 ■ Combines multiple properties in one steel ■ Excellent balance of hardness and corrosion resistance ■ High hardness achievable through low-temperature heat treatment (aging hardening characteristics) ■ High degree of freedom in heat treatment design ■ Silico Alloy is a niche new material *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

About the heat treatment characteristics of high-performance stainless steel "Silicoloy".

Introducing the heat treatment of the precipitated hardening silicone alloy! We will solve issues related to the processing process.

Precipitation hardened stainless steel achieves high hardness through relatively low-temperature heat treatment, resulting in fewer issues such as distortion, cracking, and oxidation scale attachment compared to quenched steel. This contributes to the simplification of the processing process and shorter delivery times. Precipitation hardened silicon alloy features minimal dimensional changes during aging heat treatment and surface modification processes at temperatures below 500°C. Silicon alloy resolves processing process issues. For more details, please download and view the catalog. 【Heat Treatment Features】 ■ Quenched Steel: Quenching and Tempering - Rapid cooling from high temperatures (water cooling or oil cooling) can easily cause distortion and cracking. - Dimensional changes require finishing processes. ■ Precipitation Hardened Aging Heat Treatment / Two-Step Aging Treatment - Air cooling from relatively low temperatures makes distortion and cracking less likely. - Dimensional changes require finishing processes. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Silicon alloy laser solid solution heat treatment

Building a new process design! Conducting evaluation tests using the mobile solidification method and high-speed rotation solidification method.

We will introduce the laser heat treatment tests for "Silicoloy." Laser heat treatment technology can minimize thermal effects on the base material compared to high-frequency heat treatment, allowing for localized hardening or softening. By combining the heat treatment characteristics of the precipitation-hardened Silicoloy with laser heat treatment (localized solid solution heat treatment), we aim to establish a new process design. This time, we conducted evaluation tests using the moving solid solution method and high-speed rotating solid solution method. For details of the tests, please download the catalog. 【Moving Solid Solution Test Conditions】 ■ Laser Oscillator: LDF4000 ■ Beam Shape: 11mm x 6mm ■ Absorber: Present ■ Moving Speed: 20cm/min ■ Upper Limit Output: 1000W-1200W *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
